About the Role
The QA Technical Analyst will be chiefly responsible for the delivery of QA execution, requirement management (especially around traceability), automation, and reporting across programs and projects. This role focuses on the technical capabilities of QA as a service and supports QA Manager(s) in developing and managing system coverage, documentation, and delivery for Rail Delivery Group (RDG). A key element of this role is the delivery of automation and CI/CD as part of QA services. The role involves collaboration with various internal teams, external stakeholders, technology suppliers, service providers, TOCs, industry bodies, and government agencies to ensure effective technical QA service delivery across programs, projects, and business-as-usual activities. A strong emphasis is placed on managing automation and CI/CD through the adoption of best practices and processes to enhance QA delivery.
Experience
- Good understanding of AI solutions and Machine Learning
- Experience creating agents and functions to improve base LLM models
- Analysis, recreation, and QA of code bases
- Applying machine learning to system design and QA execution
- Producing and maintaining test plans for Acceptance and End-to-End Testing
- Test estimation and tracking effort for testing on projects
- Development and maintenance of Customer Acceptance Test objective matrices
- Defining Acceptance Test criteria and working with Business Stakeholders for sign-off
- Managing QA activities for self, team, and suppliers
- Creating and delivering key QA deliverables including test plans, strategies, requirement traceability, test cases, and defect management
- Strong system analysis skills
- Ability to work independently to meet project deliverables
- Maintaining functional and non-functional testing using approved automation tools
- Good working knowledge of automation tools such as Selenium Open Source, Robot Framework, Python, ReadyAPI, Saucelabs, GitHub, GitLab, ConnectALL, Gatling, and others as required
- Automating regression and functional tests to improve QA time to market
- Managing automation scripts and codebases using GitHub and GitLab
- Creating requirement traceability matrices and managing stories in JIRA, ALM, and related tools
- Supporting testing processes in CI/CD and/or DevOps environments
- Documenting automation and technical testing knowledge
- Training and knowledge sharing within the team
- Understanding and adopting static assurance across testing stages
- Proactively escalating testing delays to management
- Developing and maintaining testing knowledge of relevant systems and contributing to the Service Desk Knowledge base
- Engaging with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality of releases and products
- Ensuring supplier test delivery aligns with RDG policies and standards
- Developing a Test Assurance Framework for third-party software delivery
- Proficiency in risk-based testing approaches
- Managing expectations and timelines with test managers and project teams
- Reviewing and maintaining quality of test knowledge and scripts
- Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills across the organisation
- Reporting daily testing status to test managers and stakeholders
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with project stakeholders
- Contributing to the development of automation frameworks within the organisation
- Flexibility in day-to-day responsibilities as required by the QA team
- Working with Service Assurance leadership to support AI functionality for QA productivity
- Demonstrating good team processes and supporting equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI)
