About the Role
We are seeking a qualified social worker to join our small LADO and Safeguarding in Education Team. Reporting to the Team Manager, you will provide a comprehensive safeguarding service to colleagues working or volunteering in childcare settings, including schools, pre-schools, nurseries, and other organisations providing for children.

The role involves strategically managing, developing, organising, and controlling a professional service area to ensure delivery meets all Council, professional, and legislative requirements.

Key responsibilities include coordinating and delivering child protection and safeguarding training to the sector, contributing to the Waltham Forest Strategic Partnerships Board, and providing reporting and oversight to schools, the Local Authority, and partners regarding safeguarding issues. This includes producing an annual thematic analysis.

Requirements

Experience
- Qualified Children's Social Worker with a minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience
- Registered with Social Work England
- Experienced in all aspects of Safeguarding Children and Young People
- Ability to produce well-written analysis-based reports and audits
- Understanding of SEND

About you
Good communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with Governors, Head Teachers, Managing Directors, Trustees, and other staff and providers of children’s services to ensure appropriate policies, procedures, and guidance are implemented.

Qualifications
- Qualified Children's Social Worker
- Enhanced DBS Certificate
- Continued professional body registration

Additional Requirements
- Satisfactory employment references and identity checks
- Subject to safer recruitment practices due to working with children and/or vulnerable adults
- Fluent spoken English sufficient for effective role performance
