About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Imaging Department at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust as a Receptionist/Administrative Assistant. You will be a dedicated, enthusiastic, and patient-focused individual supporting the Imaging department during a period of positive change and growth. The role involves being the first point of contact, meeting and greeting patients, and managing appointments for both Imaging and Cardiology services. You will handle email and telephone queries from patients and colleagues and work closely with a large clinical team to deliver a high-quality, patient-centred service.

Key responsibilities include ensuring smooth running of the X-ray Reception/administration, booking patients in for tests, checking and sending radiology reports to referring consultants, maintaining Trust to Trust communications, and ensuring patient data is accurate and up to date. You will also be responsible for patient reminders, responding to queries, and ensuring departmental standards are met to provide a courteous and efficient service.

Requirements

Experience
- Experience working both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Experience in a customer-focused environment, demonstrating the ability to handle difficult customers and challenging situations.
- Experience working with confidential documents and information.
- Experience resolving data quality issues.
- Desirable: Previous experience in an outpatient setting, knowledge of medical terminology, and understanding of NHS outpatient waiting times.

Qualifications
- Essential: GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English.
- NVQ Level 3 or relevant equivalent experience.
- Past experience in a customer-facing role.
- Desirable: NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or Customer Services.
