An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Administrator to join the Oncology and Haematology Clinical Trials Department based at Guy’s Hospital. You will play a key role in supporting a varied and high-performing portfolio of clinical research studies, including commercial and non-commercial clinical trials. Working within a multidisciplinary team of clinical researchers, nurses, and administrative staff, this post offers an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and a keen interest in clinical research. Main Duties
As a Research Administrator, you will facilitate clinical trials and provide administrative support across Oncology and Haematology Clinical Trials teams. You will be the dedicated Archivist for the department, maintaining excellent working knowledge of various studies to support the research team leads. Core responsibilities include coordinating day-to-day administrative requirements, managing research diaries and meeting bookings, preparing and maintaining essential study documentation including Investigator Site Files (ISFs) and regulatory records, handling trial supplies, ensuring audit readiness, and providing general office-based support. You will also be supported to undertake relevant training such as Good Clinical Practice and Information Governance and may be involved in selected patient-facing research activities following competency training.

Working Environment
The Oncology and Haematology Clinical Trials team consists of over seventy staff including Research Nurses, Clinical Trial Practitioners, Coordinators, data managers and Safety & Support teams. The team works closely with oncology and haematology medical teams to recruit and monitor patients across a large portfolio of Phase II and III trials, including early phase trials. The mission is to improve treatment choice, clinical care and outcomes for cancer patients through innovation, dedication and excellence in clinical trials.

Requirements

Experience
- Previous administrative clinical trial experience in research
- Experience working in a team
- Experience using databases
- Desirable: Experience in Oncology and NHS experience

About you
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Strong IT skills, specifically in database management and MS Office
- Ability to concentrate for prolonged periods when cross-referencing medical case notes
- Physically able to move case notes and medical records weighing up to 5 kg
- Good health attendance record

Qualifications
- Essential: NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification, or NVQ Level 3 plus significant previous experience
- Desirable: Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certificate

Additional Requirements
- Act in accordance with local policies and procedures laid down by Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust
- Undertake individual performance review annually with line manager
- Commitment to personal professional development and keeping up to date with research and regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of mandatory standards for clinical research conduct is desirable
- Ability to work flexibly to meet service needs
