About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Administrator to join the Oncology and Haematology Clinical Trials Department based at Guy’s Hospital. You will play a key role in supporting a varied and high-performing portfolio of clinical research studies, including commercial and non-commercial clinical trials. Working within a multidisciplinary team of clinical researchers, nurses, and administrative staff, this post offers an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and a keen interest in clinical research. This is a full-time Band 4 post ideal for individuals looking to build a career in NHS research administration within a world-class academic and clinical environment.

Requirements

Experience
- Previous administrative clinical trial experience in research is essential
- Experience working in a team environment
- Experience using databases
- Experience in Oncology and NHS experience are desirable

About you
- Excellent organisational skills
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Proficient IT skills, specifically in database management and MS Office applications
- Ability to concentrate for prolonged periods, for example when cross-referencing medical case notes and screening lists
- Physically able to move case notes and medical records weighing up to 5 kg
- Good health attendance record

Qualifications
- NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification, or NVQ Level 3 plus significant relevant experience is essential
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certificate is desirable

Additional Requirements
- Ability to act in accordance with local policies and procedures laid down by Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust
- Commitment to personal professional development and keeping up to date with research and regulatory requirements
- Willingness to undertake relevant training including Good Clinical Practice and Information Governance
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks including local SOPs, European directives, Medicines for Human Use regulations, UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research, Human Tissue Act, and IATA training is desirable
