Job overview The Research Grant Support Officer will prepare cost estimates and complete the associated finance paperwork for research funding applications to NIHR funding streams, to relevant Research Councils and to Medical Research Charities, often working in collaboration with KCL. The Research Grant Support Officer will support the researcher through the external funding application process. Main duties of the job To liaise with researchers to prepare cost estimates and complete the finance due diligence paperwork for research funding applications in accordance with agreed timetables, funder policies and department procedures. To support the researcher through the external funding application process and to be the key Trust contact for any researcher applying for external funding. To review, interpret and retain up to date copies of Dept. of Health costing guidance, NIHR and other grant funder guidance and funding deadlines, explaining relevant regulations to the researcher. To facilitate the initiation of new research grants within the Finance department. j. To prepare costing spreadsheets for budget setting and for financial planning. k.
