About the Role
Linklaters is a global law firm operating in 20 countries through 30 offices. We pride ourselves on being a people business, where exceptional talent thrives in a collaborative, innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial, and responsible environment. We foster a positive, supportive, fair, and inclusive atmosphere that values diversity and challenges bias.
As a Revenue Advisor, you will be a trusted member of the Finance team, partnering with practice groups to optimise the Division’s revenue lifecycle and support strong financial performance. You will work closely with Partners, Matter Managers, and Finance colleagues to manage WIP and debt profiles, support timely billing, and help deliver billing targets.
Acting as a key link between Finance and practice teams, you will provide practical guidance, resolve revenue-related issues, and identify opportunities to improve billing, collections, and overall revenue hygiene. This 12-month fixed-term position offers broad stakeholder exposure and opportunities to develop within a collaborative, globally connected Finance function.
Your key responsibilities include partnering with Partners, Matter Managers, Secretaries, and Business Managers to proactively manage the revenue cycle; building trusted relationships with matter teams to recommend best practices; supporting Senior Revenue Advisors and deputising when required; reviewing Engagement Letters and matter-opening information to ensure alignment with client billing requirements; driving resolution and collection of overdue debts; managing e-billing rejections; maintaining accurate WIP and debtor commentary; providing financial reporting and insights; and delivering guidance and training on client billing cycles and revenue best practices.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the financial success of a leading law firm while developing your expertise in revenue management within a supportive and inclusive environment.
Experience
A minimum of two years’ experience within a professional services environment, with experience managing the working capital cycle. Good knowledge of billing processes within a law firm or similar legal environment. Strong understanding of VAT requirements and associated CCO risks. Detailed knowledge of the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and their application within a legal practice. Previous experience working within a legal practice, ideally within a leading law firm. A sound understanding of revenue management principles and how effective billing and working capital management contribute to financial performance.
About you
Proactive and collaborative with strong stakeholder management skills. Able to build trusted relationships and provide practical financial guidance. Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and managing multiple priorities. Committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace culture.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or training in finance, accounting, or related fields are advantageous but not explicitly required. A strong understanding of financial operations and regulatory compliance within a legal context is essential.
