As a Risk Manager within our Nuclear team, you will produce and maintain high-quality risk and assumption registers, deliver risk analysis outputs that inform contingency and mitigation strategies, and provide clear risk narratives to support governance decisions and delivery confidence across complex, regulated programmes.
Your responsibilities will include providing risk expertise and advice on risk and contingency management in line with agreed procedures and governance, facilitating risk and assumption workshops to ensure quality identification and documentation, and developing and assuring project, programme, or workstream risk and assumption registers to keep them current, traceable, and decision ready.
You will conduct risk identification and analysis, support development of practical mitigation actions with risk owners, and actively monitor progress and effectiveness. Where required, you will provide quantitative risk analysis services, running risk analysis software in conjunction with integrated schedules to support scenario testing and provide Schedule Quantitative Risk Analysis (SQRA) outputs.
Embedding risk management into delivery arrangements by aligning risk outputs with planning, cost, change, and reporting cycles will be key, as will producing clear risk narratives explaining key drivers, impacts, trends, and recommended actions for stakeholders at different levels. You will also support assurance activities by providing evidence of risk process application, register quality, and reporting traceability.
Additionally, you will contribute to knowledge transfer and capability development by coaching colleagues and improving tools, templates, and ways of working. The scope of accountability will be tailored to your experience, ranging from hands-on risk delivery to leading risk governance, assurance, and continuous improvement across assignments.
Experience
Strong experience delivering risk management in complex projects or programmes within regulated or safety critical environments.
Demonstrable facilitation skills, including running risk and assumption workshops and engaging stakeholders effectively.
Proven ability to develop and maintain risk registers and produce clear, evidence-based risk narratives and reporting outputs.
Working knowledge of risk tools and data handling, including maintaining risk and assumption registers and producing risk reporting outputs using Microsoft Excel and similar tools.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
You should hold or be working towards a relevant professional qualification or chartered status.
