About the Role
We are seeking a professional, organised, and friendly Administrative Assistant to support the smooth running of our school. You will be the first point of contact for visitors, manage communications, and provide essential administrative support to staff and leadership. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate records and managing pupil attendance, handling emails, letters, newsletters, and social media updates, supporting school events, training bookings, and resource ordering. You will also welcome visitors and manage reception duties, assist with safeguarding procedures and pupil welfare, and provide general administrative support including filing, printing, and financial tasks.
Who We Are
Hawley Woods School provides a specialist environment primarily for autistic children and those needing a similarly adapted approach, with small classes of 6-8 pupils within a calm, nurturing setting. The school caters for children aged 7 to 16 years (Key Stages 2, 3 and 4). We support children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) who may be struggling with mainstream education due to pace, confidence, or sensory challenges. We also help children re-engage positively with education after periods out of school. Hawley Woods School is part of Kedleston Group, which specialises in education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including autistic spectrum condition (ASC), ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

Experience
- Experience in a school or administrative role is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications
- GCSEs in English and Maths are essential.
- Familiarity with Arbor MIS and safeguarding procedures is desirable.
