About the Role

This role is central to a significant programme reviewing and adapting education provision to meet sufficiency duties amid falling school roles, increased pupils with additional needs, and financial pressures within Camden schools. Key priorities include strategic changes to SEND provision and supporting schools with building adaptations to improve inclusion.
Over the next two years, you will lead the delivery of capital projects within schools, focusing on additional specialist places and estate adaptations. This role aligns with the We Make Camden initiative, ensuring young people have access to secure, safe, and appropriate educational environments that enhance future economic opportunities.
The post requires an Enhanced DBS check and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
Experience
Proven experience managing complex construction projects, preferably within the education sector. Strong budget management skills including monitoring expenditure, managing risks, and ensuring value for money.
About You
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. Good understanding of building design, construction, and property management principles. Familiarity with relevant legislation, regulations, and policies related to construction, health and safety, and education. Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or demonstrable experience in construction project management or related fields are desirable.
