About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Architect to support a significant pipeline of site quality monitoring across a multi-disciplinary team. You will deliver the Construction Quality Monitoring (CQM) Lead role across our offices, providing a quality monitoring service to oversee and report on construction works, identifying build quality and workmanship non-compliance, health and safety hazards, and risks during the works.

The role primarily involves delivery of site quality monitoring within the Education sector. You will have a strong grounding in building technology including modern methods of construction (MMC), reviewing works on site for adherence to contract requirements, good working practices, and manufacturers' recommendations. You will manage specialist consultants such as M&E Engineers, Fire Consultants, and Façade Engineers as required.

Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential, including the ability to access and report on online information platforms. You will work collaboratively with other disciplines, site managers, and supply chain members while applying sound construction judgement. Familiarity with JCT forms of contract is required; NEC knowledge is advantageous but not essential. You will manage your own workload and work independently, including design and tender of small to medium value maintenance projects. Experience in delivering site inspection reports using tablet capture software is expected.

The role requires DBS and basic security clearances. You will be supported by our Multi-Disciplinary Design and Building Surveying team and have opportunities to work across other public and private sectors where we deliver similar services.

Our values include Safety first - championing a safe, diverse and inclusive working environment; Client focus - delivering on our promises and building long-term relationships; Integrity - always doing the right thing; and Creating opportunity - fostering continuous improvement and development for our people.

Mace is an inclusive employer welcoming candidates from diverse backgrounds. We encourage applications even if you do not meet all criteria, as you may be suitable for this or other roles. Flexible, part-time, and hybrid working options are available where suitable.
