We are seeking an experienced asset management professional to lead the development of a multi-discipline asset management system and regional Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP), integrating renewal, enhancement and maintenance interventions. You will play a key role in shaping current and future control period strategies, ensuring asset management plans align with regional objectives, long-term business priorities and contractual requirements.

Working collaboratively with engineering, asset management, Route Maintenance and delivery partners, you will provide strategic leadership, drive continuous improvement, and oversee the production of key business planning, regulatory submissions and delivery contract requirements.

Key Accountabilities
- Lead the creation and management of a multi-discipline Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) for current and future control periods that integrates renewal, enhancement and maintenance interventions and aligns these to long term strategic business plans.
- Lead the asset strategic business planning process and support the Routes with the development of detailed Route Asset Management Plans (RAMPs) in line with regional policies and objectives.
- Lead the production of asset management documents for Strategic Business Plan (current and future Control/Funding periods), including asset management plans and information required for periodic review processes.
- Lead the production of asset management processes for the Regional asset management system and manage compliance to the requirements of ISO 55001.
- Manage the interface at a renewal portfolio level between the Asset Management organisation (Capable Owner) and the delivery partner (Southern Integrated Delivery) and coordinate activities across Asset Management and Southern Integrated Delivery to meet contractual requirements.
- Provide direction and leadership to Route and Regional Engineering and Asset Management teams on long-term asset management planning to improve quality and business efficiency.
- Provide management information that demonstrates a clear link between strategic objectives and detailed asset management plans.
- Analyse and document current processes, workflows and information exchanges to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support the management of the regulatory interface within the Region, responding to queries and requests for information relating to engineering and asset management elements of the Strategic Business Plan.

Requirements

Experience
- Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline
- Proven project and programme management experience
- Experience directing and implementing analysis tools and methods in engineering and asset management
- Proven experience in developing and applying strategies and management frameworks
- Experience developing asset management strategies
- Experience applying analytical approaches to improving reliability and performance of systems
- Experience developing and delivering business plans
- Highly collaborative with strong communication skills, able to effectively communicate at all levels of the business

Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline (essential)
- Membership of the Institute of Asset Management (desirable)
- Qualification in Asset Management (desirable)
- Experience in management and delivery of railway infrastructure construction and/or maintenance activities (desirable)
- Strong understanding of the UK rail industry (desirable)
