About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to join our transit team, supporting the delivery of major projects and managing a range of smaller projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects for a growing client base within a highly creative, collaborative, and inclusive team focused on innovative problem solving and design excellence.
In this position, you will coordinate design and construction phases of projects of varying sizes, deliver high-quality architectural solutions, lead elements of large and small projects independently, and manage junior and technician team members. You will also support the Studio management team with programming and resourcing reviews. The role involves running significant transit projects, building strong relationships, working collaboratively, and providing mentorship.

Role Accountabilities
- Support and lead projects with responsibility for internal program and budget management, and effective time and resource management for your team
- Work across all project stages including design development, working drawings, contract administration, and on-site services
- Provide support to transit operator and contractor clients, thriving in a construction environment
- Manage multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with other disciplines
- Lead elements of large or complex projects or small projects independently, with or without a team
- Maintain project documentation, drawings, and specifications; review submittals; capture and promote best practice and design knowledge within the Studio
- Process change control requests during construction, address RFIs, and support preparation of proposals, submissions, and presentations
- Interface with statutory authorities during design and construction phases
- Adhere to quality management, environmental management systems, and health & safety procedures
- Resolve complex technical and design issues and contribute to technical design reviews across projects in the studio
Experience
- RIBA Part 3 qualified and ARB registered with a minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience
- Background in complex UK projects, working with contractors at detailed design and construction stages
- Experience working on larger projects as part of a team and providing day-to-day leadership for smaller projects
- Proficient in Revit, Bentley Microstation, and Aecosim/BIM as industry standards
- Strong knowledge of building regulations, design standards, and best practice including Network Rail and London Underground/TfL standards and guidance
- Working knowledge of CDM regulations and Building Regulations Principal Designer responsibilities
