About the Role
In this role, you will work closely with Brokers in the Global Markets Direct and Facultative team to deliver market-leading analytics. The Direct & Facultative Data and Analytics team provides a wide range of analytical support to the broking team to secure the best results for clients. Typical support includes data management, catastrophe modelling, exposure management, financial modelling, and bespoke analytics. The focus is to provide brokers with a deeper understanding of their clients' risk from natural and man-made perils such as windstorm, earthquake, severe convective storm, flood, and wildfire.

Day-to-day responsibilities include processing and auditing client data, running client portfolios against state-of-the-art catastrophe models, and synthesising results. You will take a methodical approach to problem solving and proactively contribute to the success of the Direct & Facultative team.

Key tasks:
- Managing, auditing, processing, and analysing portfolio data, preparing it for model ingestion
- Quantifying catastrophe risk using vendor catastrophe models
- Operating geo-visualisation tools including ArcGIS
- Understanding and evaluating the impact of model updates and revisions
- Communicating results effectively to all stakeholders including cat modellers, brokers, clients, and (re)insurers
- Collaborating closely with all stakeholders throughout the risk quantification process
- Providing real-time reporting and analysis of natural catastrophes

Requirements

Experience
- Proven track record of exceeding performance expectations
- Understanding of London/global insurance markets and (re)insurance business
- Experience with at least one vendor catastrophe model and knowledge of the underlying peril science and model components
- Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
- Excellent IT skills; experience with Power BI, SQL, R/Python is an advantage
- Experience with process optimisation and working knowledge of GIS software such as ArcGIS is an advantage

Qualifications
- Degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering, natural sciences or related field, ideally at Masters level
