We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Rail South, West & Wales business within our Civil and Structural Engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a diverse portfolio of rail infrastructure projects, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, safe, and sustainable engineering solutions. You will support the development and delivery of technical designs across the full project lifecycle while collaborating with colleagues and clients to meet project outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include contributing to the design and delivery of rail engineering projects ensuring outputs meet quality, safety, and client requirements; applying engineering principles to develop practical and efficient technical solutions across feasibility, design, and implementation stages; supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of project activities within a multidisciplinary team environment; preparing and reviewing technical designs, reports, drawings, and specifications to appropriate standards; engaging with clients and stakeholders to provide technical input and support project decision-making; collaborating with team members to ensure consistency, quality, and timely delivery of project work; promoting a culture of safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement; and supporting knowledge sharing and development of less experienced team members.

Experience
- Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering
- Experience in civil engineering design within the railway environment, with understanding of relevant standards and processes
- Ability to produce clear and accurate technical documentation and reports
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams
- Awareness of digital engineering tools and environments

Qualifications
- Working towards or holding Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status with ICE / IStructE
