About the Role
The Financial Times (FT) is a globally recognised news organisation known for its authority, integrity and accuracy. At the FT, curiosity thrives and ambitious thinking is rewarded. As a Senior Commercial Manager within FT Live Forums, you will work closely with the Head of FT Live Forums to take partnership propositions to market and support the next phase of growth. FT Live Forums are exclusive communities for senior leaders and board members, rooted in the FT’s editorial authority, bringing together leaders for year-round collaboration and insight on key business issues. This international, sales-driven, client-facing role involves acquiring new partners, developing commercial opportunities, and supporting the launch of new Forums such as Tech for Growth, AI Forum, Supply Chain Forum, and others. You will build long-term relationships with senior decision-makers, helping FT Live Forums deliver ambitious and sustainable revenue growth while protecting the FT brand’s credibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive lead generation in collaboration with marketing to research, identify and engage prospective partners
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of high-quality commercial opportunities
- Lead client communication and outreach, developing trusted relationships with senior decision-makers including CMOs and marketing directors
- Develop long-term commercial partnerships and take partnership propositions to market
- Build strong relationships across the FT Group to identify and maximise revenue opportunities
- Proactively identify new revenue streams and develop strategies to deliver them
- Support the development and adaptation of the FT Live Forums growth strategy
- Maximise commercial opportunities while protecting the FT brand’s reputation
- Represent FT Live Forums and the FT at relevant events and conferences to expand the commercial network
- Maintain strong sales management, pipeline reporting and CRM discipline

Working Model
We operate a hybrid working model requiring staff to work onsite approximately 50% of the time, subject to role requirements and regular review. Flexible working requests are considered, balancing flexibility with collaboration and team cohesion.

Experience
- 5+ years sales experience, ideally in media, with a strong track record of building long-term partnerships
- Proven success delivering against sales targets and developing a high-quality pipeline
- Confident selling across digital, telephone and face-to-face channels
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills with senior decision-makers
- Commercially sharp with ability to identify new business and revenue opportunities
- Entrepreneurial, proactive and able to turn opportunities into action
- Collaborative and effective working across teams and functions
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgement and customer-focused approach
- Experience using Salesforce or another mainstream CRM system

Qualifications
