About the Role
At Mace, our purpose is to redefine the boundaries of ambition by creating responsible places that bring transformative impact to our people, communities, and societies worldwide. Within our consult and construct business, we combine leading-edge practical expertise and project delivery consultancy to unlock the potential in every project.
As Senior Commercial Manager - MEP, you will be responsible for cost management of complex works packages, managing risk and opportunity to ensure profit on packages and projects. You will support senior commercial team members in administering monthly commercial procedures such as Cost Value Reports.
You will be an advocate of Mace's core value of Safety First, leading and maintaining exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability, and project compliance standards. You will possess technical expertise in local Health and Safety rules and regulations relevant to the project portfolio and champion a diverse and inclusive working environment, prioritising the wellbeing of your team.
Working as part of the Senior Construction Delivery Team, you will take direction from the Construction Lead and project senior leadership team, providing guidance to the wider team. You will build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, supporting the construction lead in translating the client’s vision into a deliverable onsite plan.
You will manage and lead a team of Managers and Professionals, ensuring the right principles, structures, tools, and responsibilities are in place to deliver area plans and excellence. Your duties will include addressing subcontractor contractual claims and changes, producing monthly client applications, approving invoices, issuing IPCs, drafting technical and contractual correspondence, and commercially managing design consultants and specialist fees.
You will ensure the site team operates within commercial and legal procedures and agreements, communicate effectively with clients and subcontractors, and work collaboratively towards net zero carbon transition by proactively managing associated carbon emissions and reductions during project delivery.
Integrity is key; you will ensure budgets and operations are fiscally and ethically viable, meeting organisational and legislative compliance obligations. You will support the Senior Construction Delivery Team in shaping long-term strategy for a sustainable business future and commit to making a positive impact for our people, clients, and planet.
Creating opportunities for people to excel, you will support managers and junior team members by fostering knowledge sharing, networking, innovation, and best practice. You will provide technical expertise and promote a culture of ownership, clearly defining roles and responsibilities.
