About the Role
We are excited to be growing our UK Places cost management capability. Places is one of Arcadis’ core Global Business Areas, focused on creating, improving, and sustaining the built environment where people live, work, learn, and connect. Our Places GBA typically works across buildings, property, regeneration and development, cities and urban environments, mixed-use and commercial schemes, education, healthcare, public sector estates and planning, design, and project delivery. As a Senior Cost Consultant, you will manage the delivery of cost management in small to medium developments or significant components of larger assignments. You will take a leading role in delivering cost management services across major projects and programmes in the UK, working within the Places Commercial Management team. The role involves regular site-based engagement (typically 2–3 days per week), close collaboration with contractors and client teams, and responsibility for ensuring consistent, accurate, and high-quality commercial outcomes. You will manage several workstreams or significant elements of larger programmes, applying strong technical capability, sound professional judgement, and effective stakeholder management to support successful project delivery.

Role Accountabilities
- Assist in coaching and developing team members to share knowledge, increase skills, and improve service delivery standards
- Work within established financial systems and budgets to produce reports, forecasts, and track budgets, overseeing costing and variances to manage cost variables
- Deliver small to medium cost projects or significant components of larger assignments, ensuring appropriate use of resources and budgets within deadlines
- Provide advice on risk management, compliance, and associated behaviours to ensure adherence to Arcadis’ processes
- Present project risks or issues to senior managers to avoid adverse impacts
- Analyse and review data and documents to identify key themes and trends, using this analysis to provide advice and recommendations
- Use knowledge and industry best practice research to analyse existing processes and policies
- Share knowledge and provide recommendations to assist service improvement and innovation

Experience
- Proven skills and experience supporting technically complex projects or programmes of varying size and scope
- Experience coaching and mentoring junior colleagues with emerging leadership skills
- Experience working closely with external stakeholders to build client relationships
- Experience managing business relationships at senior-management level
- Capable of leading projects from inception to completion

Qualifications
