About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. We are delivering the fit-out, refurbishment and alteration of a unique collection of listed buildings in central London. These buildings are situated in a live environment on an estate of national importance with a rich heritage, requiring careful logistics and collaboration with technical and construction partners. Our client requires strong commercial management to support the Authority in delivering modern workplace solutions, unique projects and complex programmes of work.
As a Senior Cost Consultant, you will take responsibility for end-to-end service delivery, often managing large and complex commissions across both private and public sector clients. Your role is to ensure client objectives are met through the delivery of a value-added cost management service.
You will be responsible for conducting feasibility studies, preparing business cases and procurement reports, applying value management techniques early in projects, managing estimating and cost planning activities including ownership and presentation of final cost plans. You will oversee the procurement process, ensuring all stages from prequalification to contract preparation are effectively managed. Post-contract, you will manage cost variances, change control processes, cost checking, valuations, and produce monthly cost reports for clients. Active participation in meetings, value engineering, life cycle costing, and negotiation of final accounts will be key aspects of your role. You will act as a key interface with clients and consultants at all project stages.
Additionally, you will contribute to marketing and business development within your sector, supporting the consultancy team in promoting Mace in the region. Line management and recruitment responsibilities will also form part of your role.
Mace is committed to safety, client focus, integrity, and creating opportunities for our people to excel. We are an inclusive employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates. Flexible, part-time, and hybrid working options may be considered where suitable.
