About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. We are seeking a Senior Cost Consultant with an MEP background to provide full cycle cost management services for ongoing commissions and projects. You will be responsible for conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports, and applying value management techniques at the outset of projects. Your role will include managing, estimating, and cost planning activities, taking ownership of and presenting final cost plans, and ensuring final accounts are negotiated and agreed. You will act as a key interface with clients, stakeholders, and other consultants at all project stages, handling contractual frameworks and standard forms of contract. Additionally, you will identify and act upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, products, and internal systems and processes to enhance the services provided to clients.

Experience
Proven experience advising on contract administration including JCT and NEC forms, value engineering, and life cycle costing. Expertise in Capex vs Opex cost analysis and advice. Demonstrated commercial insight on MEP, sustainability, carbon reduction, and public-sector priorities. Ability to apply industry best practice, multi-sector experience, and professional standards to client outcomes.

Enthusiastic and passionate about cost and commercial management with strong communication skills to interface effectively with clients, stakeholders, and consultants. Proactive in identifying improvements to cost management procedures and internal systems. Committed to upholding safety, integrity, and client focus values.

Qualifications
Relevant professional qualifications or equivalent experience in cost consultancy or quantity surveying within MEP or construction sectors are desirable.
