About the Role
As part of the BBC's Creative Diversity team, you will play a key role in transforming complex production, commissioning and diversity data into meaningful business intelligence. You will work across multiple data sources to build a robust data and reporting infrastructure, bringing datasets together, developing impactful Power BI dashboards and generating insights that enable better-informed decision-making and track progress against the BBC's creative diversity ambitions. You will be comfortable working at pace and taking ownership of defined deliverables within a short-term assignment. Interviews may include up to two stages.

Your Responsibilities and Impact
- Design, develop and maintain a suite of Power BI dashboards and reporting tools to monitor performance against Creative Diversity priorities.
- Integrate and interrogate complex datasets from multiple sources, including production, commissioning and diversity data, improving data quality and establishing consistent structures.
- Translate complex datasets into clear business insights and compelling, user-friendly visualisations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with the Creative Diversity Operations Lead and relevant data stakeholders to ensure accuracy, accessibility and fitness for analysis and reporting.
- Support colleagues in understanding and using reporting tools and dashboards, contributing to guidance and knowledge transfer to build sustainable team capability.
- Develop custom visualisation approaches using Power BI custom visuals, HTML and/or JavaScript solutions.
- Manage delivery against the agreed three-month scope, identifying and escalating risks, dependencies and data-quality issues.

Requirements

Experience
- Degree level education or above in a STEM subject or equivalent experience.
- Strong Power BI expertise with demonstrable experience designing and developing dashboards and intuitive, user-friendly data visualisations.
- Proficient in developing and maintaining Python and SQL scripts to automate processes, analyse data, and improve operational efficiency.
- Strong Excel and data manipulation skills, including cleaning, consolidating and structuring datasets using formulas, data transformation techniques and structured reporting approaches.
- Experience developing data visualisation solutions including Power BI custom visuals and HTML and/or JavaScript, with the technical capability to adapt reporting solutions to meet business requirements.

About You
- Experience working with diversity, representation, audience or workforce data, including knowledge of frameworks such as Diamond or equivalent monitoring/reporting systems is desirable.
- Experience working with TV commissioning, production or media data, including familiarity with relevant systems, workflows and data structures is advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder and communication skills, with the ability to understand business requirements and translate complex data into clear, accessible insights and reporting products for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work at pace and take ownership of deliverables within a fixed-term assignment.
