About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. We are seeking an accomplished Senior Development Manager to support the identification, appraisal and delivery of development projects across the UK and Ireland, with opportunities to contribute to international work. This role suits a commercially minded professional with financial, stakeholder and future leadership potential. You will be responsible for identifying, appraising and helping secure new development opportunities across residential, mixed‑use and select commercial sectors. You will prepare and review development appraisals, financial models and cashflow forecasts to inform investment decisions. Managing or supporting due diligence, funding strategies and site acquisition activities will be key, alongside managing development budgets, cost plans and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle. You will oversee development and project management processes to achieve agreed time, cost and quality outcomes, working collaboratively with clients, consultants and internal teams across design, planning, construction and operations. Mace champions a safe, diverse and inclusive working environment, prioritising wellbeing and continuous improvement. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds and offer flexible, part-time and hybrid working options where suitable.
Experience
Proven experience in development management, ideally in a client‑side or consultancy environment. Strong commercial and financial capability, including development appraisals and Excel‑based modelling. Experience across UK (particularly London) residential and mixed‑use markets; broader sector exposure is an advantage.
About you
Commercially minded with strong stakeholder and presentation skills. Confident communicator who can work collaboratively across multiple teams. Willingness to travel occasionally, including internationally. Alignment with Mace’s values of safety, client focus, integrity and creating opportunity.
