About the Role
New River Children’s Centre is a vibrant, inclusive, and nurturing environment committed to giving every child the best start in life. We work in close partnership with families and community partners as part of a Brightstart Family Hub to provide high-quality early education, care, and support to children aged 0–5. The centre has two nursery rooms: one tailored for children under 3 years, featuring a Baby zone and Toddler zone, and another for children aged 3-5 years.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Early Years Education Worker to join our dedicated team. You will be an enthusiastic and committed professional with experience in a similar setting, looking to take the next step in your career by supporting the delivery of high-quality childcare and education. Your role will enable all children to reach their full potential while working collaboratively within the team.

New River Children’s Centre is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and all posts are subject to satisfactory DBS checks.

Benefits
Islington Council is committed to challenging inequality and creating a more equal borough where everyone has the chance to thrive. Our values—collaborative, ambitious, resourceful, and empowering (CARE)—guide everything we do.

We offer up to 31 days leave per year, increasing to 36 days after five years of local government service, a 35-hour working week, and a range of flexible working arrangements to support a healthy work-life balance. Additional benefits include learning and development opportunities, competitive pay with a commitment to the London Living Wage minimum, an excellent local government pension scheme, Cycle to Work scheme, discounted gym memberships, and local discounts at restaurants, shops, and health and beauty providers.

We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and equitable workforce, maintaining a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination, and supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels of the organisation.
