Senior Programme Manager, Population Health – King’s Health Partners
One year fixed term contract (secondment cover)
We are looking for an experienced Senior Programme Manager to join our King’s Health Partners team hosted by Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a partnership team focused on accelerating the translation of research into patient care and improving population health, including reducing the burden of health inequalities experienced by those living in south London and beyond.
King’s Health Partners:
King’s Health Partners (KHP) is currently in the process of developing its 2030 Strategy, which will seek to accelerate progress in three areas:
Personalised Health – accelerating the transformation of cutting-edge discoveries into tailored healthcare for individuals
Digital Health and Data Sciences - pioneer and advance digital health technologies to improve current and future health
Population Health - improve health and wellbeing by deepening our understanding of mental and physical health needs, and providing evidence for accessible, equitable care

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will play a key role in setting foundations for successful delivery of KHP’s strategic objective for population health:
Working with KHP senior leadership team and partners to deliver KHPs strategic priority for population health; including supporting benefits and impact realisation, governance and programme management infrastructure aligned to wider KHP strategy arrangements.
Connecting and amplifying work on population health across the partnership to advance strategic cohesion and impact.
The post-holder will also have day-to-day operational responsibility for the KHP diabetes, endocrinology and obesity (KHP DEO) clinical academic partnership:
Working with clinical, academic and programme directors to drive operational delivery of the KHP DEO research priorities and clinical and workforce transformation frameworks and leverage benefits of clinical academic integration to improve health and wellbeing and health equity for people living with diabetes, obesity and endocrine disorders.
Working closely with the responsible clinical lead and programme team to building a viable business case for a KHP DEO Education and Training Academy supporting healthcare professionals and patients in specialist settings.
The postholder will have line management responsibility and work collaboratively with teams from across KHP to forward our shared KHP Strategy ambitions and opportunities for cross-team working.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The role has a strong emphasis on both strategy and delivery and the post holder will be expected to deputise for the Programme Director as needed. The post-holder will also be required to demonstrate their ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and role model collaborative leadership and equality, diversity and inclusion.
The post-holder be responsible for developing, monitoring and reporting key success metrics; driving engagement and co-production with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve these.
The role requires significant focus on planning, organisational and partnership development, implementation of new ways of working and delivery, engagement and networking, and continuous improvement/evaluation.
The postholder will influence change both within and across organisations, as well as further afield, to improve innovative practice and the experiences and outcomes for service users and staff. As such, this role will involve some complex negotiation with senior directors, managers and frontline staff at both an operational and strategic level.

Qualifications/Education
Essential criteria
Relevant Masters / MBA, equivalent professional qualification or equivalent experience. Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) to practitioner level or equivalent experience
Evidence of continuing professional development
Previous Experience
Essential criteria
Extensive programme management experience in large complex organisations, including design, development, implementation and management of change in a multiple stakeholder environment.
Evidence of leading successful programme and / or operational performance and improvement at a strategic level; including business case preparation, service initiation / commissioning, contract negotiation, and the development and monitoring of output and outcome measures.

Expert knowledge of operations and / or programme management methodologies and techniques
Excellent management skills including motivating and coaching staff
