About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. We are working with a number of NHS Trusts in London and are seeking an experienced Senior Project Controls Manager to direct at both project and programme level on behalf of Trusts' capital delivery schemes within the UK healthcare sector.
You will be responsible for developing and embedding change control processes across the programme, working within the Programme Management Office (PMO) core team. This includes integrating change control processes with the digital strategy, developing functional requirements for a digital change control solution, and supporting its implementation and adoption.
Your role will also involve maintaining baseline integrity by ensuring consistency of change control, managing change registers, and driving timely approval or rejection of proposals. You will manage operational programme controls issues, work closely with change owners and functional leads to ensure consistency of change proposals, and oversee change control activities to identify lessons learned and opportunities for continuous improvement.
Supporting strategic decisions is key, including timely submission, validation and reporting of change control data, aligning processes with risk management, and supporting risk identification, management, and mitigation.
You will also provide assurance, training, and stakeholder support by developing and delivering change control guidance, training, and communications for programme teams, Trusts, and other stakeholders. Building effective relationships across the programme and providing practical support to ensure consistent application of change control processes is essential.
Mace values safety, client focus, integrity, and creating opportunities for people to excel. We champion a safe, diverse, and inclusive working environment and are open to discussing part-time, flexible, and hybrid working options where suitable.
Experience
Proven experience managing change control methodologies and techniques across programmes, particularly within major construction projects or programmes in the UK healthcare sector. Strong client and stakeholder management skills are essential. Experience rolling out new processes across matrix organisations and a good understanding of the different functions within project controls are required. Digitally savvy with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
About you
You are a proactive and strategic thinker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You thrive in complex environments and are able to influence and embed change control processes effectively. You demonstrate integrity, client focus, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in project controls, programme management, or related disciplines are desirable but not explicitly stated. A strong track record and relevant experience will be highly valued.
