Salary
£50,000 - £65,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
About the Role
The Senior Project Manager will lead the delivery of the BBC’s organisation-wide approach to Generative AI. This role involves managing a portfolio of projects both internally and externally facing, including supporting industry partnerships and collaborative initiatives. You will be responsible for analysing, planning, and delivering on BBC priorities within a complex and rapidly evolving AI landscape.
The role is part of the Generative AI Programme within the Strategy & Transformation team, which focuses on realising value from emerging AI capabilities in a practical, responsible manner aligned with the BBC’s public service mission. The team drives AI adoption across the organisation, fosters innovation, identifies efficiency opportunities, and leads the BBC’s engagement on broader AI issues shaping the media environment.
Experience
- Proven experience delivering strategic projects, external partnerships, or cross-functional programmes.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support delivery in a complex and fast-moving environment.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders to establish common positions on complex issues.
- Good understanding of the AI landscape, including industry developments and implications for media, content, and audiences.
- Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills, with sound judgement in managing sensitive issues.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex information, identify key implications, and produce clear, actionable insights.
About you
You are a strategic thinker with excellent project management skills, comfortable working across diverse teams and external partners. You have a keen interest in AI and its impact on media and public service broadcasting. You are proactive, adaptable, and able to navigate ambiguity while driving clarity and delivery.

Commercial and/or editorial experience is welcomed but not essential.
