About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. Our values shape the way we consult and define the people we want to join us on our journey.
As delivery partner on the Ministry of Justice’s capacity programme, Mace’s MoJ team has supported the MoJ’s estate for more than a decade, delivering a wide range of professional services across multiple estate expansion and improvement projects.
This opportunity is within our strategic integration team. The Senior Project Manager will act as a senior member of this team, shaping the direction, priorities and delivery of the function whilst leading portfolio-wide initiatives to improve the consistency, effectiveness and maturity of programme delivery across the Ministry of Justice portfolio.
The role combines strategic leadership, project and programme management, continuous improvement and internal consultancy, supporting both the development of the wider programme and the evolution of the strategic integration team itself. Working across multiple projects, programmes and stakeholder groups, you will connect people, processes, systems and knowledge to drive collaboration, governance excellence, innovation and learning legacy outcomes.
You will work closely with the strategic integration lead to identify future priorities, develop capability within the team and ensure the successful delivery of the team's strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the strategic integration lead in developing and implementing the team’s strategy, objectives and annual delivery plan, prioritising pipeline and resources
- Directing portfolio-wide strategic integration and continuous improvement initiatives, developing standards, guidance and best practices
- Developing and maintaining programme-wide governance documents, management plans, delivery frameworks and assurance processes
- Supporting governance reviews and programme assurance activities
- Leading lessons learnt and knowledge management activities, promoting best practice sharing across the portfolio
- Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Mace, MoJ, HMPPS and partner organisations
- Directing and coordinating strategic workstreams from inception through implementation, managing scope, schedules, risks, dependencies and stakeholder requirements
- Supporting leadership and development of the strategic integration team through coaching, mentoring, workload planning and resource coordination
- Fostering an inclusive and high-performing team culture
- Monitoring benefits realisation, preparing reports and briefings for senior stakeholders
- Identifying capability gaps and supporting recruitment, onboarding and development of team members
