We are recruiting a Senior Project Manager to work with a strategic client in the energy sector supporting a major electricity transmission project. This role offers the opportunity to be part of our expansion and deliver distinctive value by managing and delivering key projects and programmes.

Key responsibilities include managing projects during pre-construction phases such as optioneering, development, and consenting; delivering client projects to time, cost, and quality requirements within regulated sectors; managing health, safety, and environmental risks throughout the project lifecycle; and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to achieve project outcomes.

This role is based in the Leeds regional office with travel across the UK as required.

Responsibilities include:
- Leading projects to deliver agreed outcomes within time, cost, and quality requirements.
- Delivering internal fee expectations with appropriate risk mitigation and change management.
- Collaborating with project teams, clients, design teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to manage projects and resources.
- Managing programme, budget, and risks throughout the project lifecycle ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental legislation, and CDM regulations.
- Providing regular updates on health, safety, environmental performance, milestones, risk and opportunity management, and financial performance.
- Developing projects during early lifecycle phases including optioneering and consenting to ensure robust, innovative designs and deliverable programmes.
- Managing design stages including SHESQ management, project risks, deliverability, programme, and safety performance.
- Supporting tendering processes and contracting strategies.
- Managing project delivery, design, safety by design, commissioning, scheme closure, and post-completion requirements.
- Acting as key interface between project and internal/external teams and stakeholders.
- Managing and coordinating contractors and project teams to deliver projects with minimal disruption.
- Managing complex third-party issues including land, consents, grantors, public relations, and community stakeholders.
- Chairing progress and cost review meetings and attending site meetings.
- Leading, coaching, and supporting others to reach their full potential.
- Persuading and influencing stakeholders effectively.
- Presenting clearly and communicating confidently.

Requirements

Experience
- Experience in electrical infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation applicable to complex projects.
- Good understanding of HS&E management systems and requirements.
- Experience in environmental management and control.
- Strong understanding of technical documentation.
- Experience managing NEC contracts in project delivery.
- Knowledge of risk management processes for schedule and cost analysis.
- Experience with project handover records.
- Experience in formal hazard review processes.
- Understanding of procurement associated with complex projects.

Qualifications
- Degree qualified with a minimum of five years’ relevant regulated industry experience OR HNC/HND qualified with a minimum of seven years’ relevant regulated industry experience.
- Member of a relevant professional institute.
- Recognised training or qualifications in health, safety, and environmental management (e.g. NEBOSH, SMSTS, or IOSH).
