About the Role
We are recruiting for a Senior SEND Preparing for Adulthood Officer to join the SEND Preparing for Adulthood Team within Children’s Services. This permanent role involves acting as the lead SEND Officer for aspects of the Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP) and Annual Review processes, alongside undertaking specific higher level casework tasks related to Preparing for Adulthood. The SEN team is responsible for carrying out Education Health & Care needs assessments, issuing and maintaining EHC plans, and coordinating the educational placement of children and young people with SEND. This newly restructured team is dedicated to continuous improvement and delivering robust, positive outcomes for children and young people. The successful candidate will work collaboratively to develop casework management and support the development of a high-quality, skilled casework team. A sound working knowledge of SEND and a commitment to co-productive working with parents, carers, children, and professionals are essential for this role.

Experience
Proven experience in SEND casework, particularly with Education, Health & Care Plans and Annual Review processes. Experience in a leadership or senior role within SEND services is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with families, professionals, and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.

Qualifications
