As a Senior Tax Platform Engineer within Corporate Technology, you will provide dedicated technical leadership and expertise for the platforms supporting Tax and Compliance functions. You will develop a deep understanding of these specialist systems, their integrations, data flows and business processes, becoming a key technical expert within the engineering team.

You will work closely with Tax, Finance and Compliance stakeholders to translate regulatory and operational requirements into sustainable technical solutions, ensuring platform reliability, maintainability and security. Your role will include improving technical ownership, identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring changes align with the wider Corporate Technology landscape.

Building capability is a core part of your role: documenting systems and decisions, sharing knowledge, mentoring engineers and reducing dependencies on individual specialists or external partners. You will help establish sustainable long-term ownership of Tax and Compliance technology within the organisation.

Your responsibilities include:
- Providing technical leadership for Tax and Compliance platforms
- Designing, implementing and supporting platform changes
- Investigating and resolving complex technical issues
- Ensuring security, resilience, maintainability and operational readiness
- Collaborating with vendors and technology partners
- Building and maintaining high-quality technical documentation
- Mentoring and knowledge sharing across teams

Requirements

Experience
- Significant engineering experience with enterprise financial, tax, compliance, ERP or similarly complex business-critical platforms
- Proven technical ownership of specialist enterprise applications or platform capabilities
- Designing, implementing, integrating and supporting enterprise technology in production environments
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration approaches, APIs, data flows and system dependencies
- Translating complex business, regulatory or operational requirements into technical solutions
- Investigating and resolving complex problems across applications, integrations and data
- Production engineering expertise including reliability, monitoring, security, change management and operational support
- Experience with enterprise SaaS products and their ecosystems
- Working with third-party platform vendors, implementation partners or managed service providers
- Critical assessment of vendor solutions and recommendations
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring without formal management responsibility
- Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Building technical documentation and transferring specialist knowledge
- Experience with Tax and Compliance technology is highly advantageous
- Experience with ERP platforms such as Oracle Fusion or similar enterprise Finance ecosystems is advantageous
- Experience in regulated, financial or compliance-heavy environments is advantageous
