About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful trusts, providing a wide range of hospital and community services across south London and specialist care nationally. Evelina London Children’s Hospital, part of the Trust, delivers specialist services for children and young people across south east England, including cardiac, renal and critical care services, alongside community health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions.

This exciting opportunity is for a Service Manager within the Children’s Community Directorate of Evelina London Clinical Group. We seek an enthusiastic, dynamic and innovative manager with a strong operational background and a passion for improving healthcare services. You will lead and influence patient experience, safety, performance, and staff wellbeing, supporting ongoing transformation while ensuring delivery against performance goals.

In this role, you will work closely with service leads, clinicians, managers and other staff across the Trust to provide leadership and expert advice, driving high standards of care and continuous improvement. The post holder will manage operational service delivery in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, ensuring effective resource allocation and compliance with Trust policies.

Main Duties
The Service Manager is accountable to the Deputy General Manager and Clinical Leads, responsible for day-to-day delivery of clinical services in line with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards and resource constraints. Key responsibilities include operational performance management, early identification and resolution of issues, staffing and skill mix oversight, managing facilities and resources, supporting business planning, and contributing to Trust-wide initiatives and projects.

The role involves close collaboration with clinical and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure smooth service delivery, policy development, and maintaining service continuity during staff absences. You will also prepare presentations and liaise with other departments to support the effective functioning of the service.

Working for Our Organisation
Evelina London is part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, responsible for women’s and children’s services with over 3,000 dedicated staff. We provide comprehensive health services from pre-conception through childhood to adult life, serving London, south east England and beyond. We are uniquely positioned as the only NHS Trust in London with women’s and specialist children’s services on one site, enabling integrated, high-quality care.

We operate through four clinical directorates and have a strong strategic development programme supported by the wider Trust. Our commitment to clinical excellence, research, teaching and patient experience is reflected in our outstanding ratings and reputation.
