About the Role
The London Borough of Bromley is seeking to appoint either a Social Worker or a Senior Practitioner to join the Children with Disabilities Team within the 0-25 Service for Children and Young People with Disabilities. This part-time role (4 days per week) supports children aged 0-18 and their families, working closely with Education, Health, and other teams.

The team includes Occupational Therapy, Preparing for Adulthood, and Short Breaks services. Social workers carry a mixed caseload including safeguarding, child and family assessments, court work, duty, and children looked after. The role involves working with children who have severe and profound disabilities and/or complex health needs, providing short breaks for eligible children.

Applicants must have a good breadth of knowledge, with safeguarding experience essential and previous disability experience advantageous. An understanding of child development and family functioning is required. The role adheres to statutory procedures and timescales.

Social workers are expected to undertake face-to-face visits to families and be in the office two days per week (pro-rata for part-time). Caseloads are manageable, and you will report to a Team Manager as part of a busy, dedicated team focused on ensuring the safety and well-being of children.

Experience
Experience of safeguarding is essential. Previous experience working with children with disabilities is advantageous. Applicants should have a good breadth of knowledge related to child development and family functioning.

Qualifications
Degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England are required.
