About the Role
Repairs & Maintenance is responsible for the upkeep of approximately 33,000 homes. Our building maintenance department has recently undergone significant changes and improvements in the way it carries out repairs and maintenance. We are now seeking an exceptional Storekeeper to join our materials supply and stock control operation in support of the building maintenance department.

This is an exciting time to join the London Borough of Hackney’s Repairs & Maintenance department. The organisation has transformed to create a stand-alone direct labour department focused on service delivery and providing high levels of customer satisfaction.

As a Storekeeper, you will play a key role in driving the section forward, ensuring building materials are managed effectively to provide a first-class service for residents and leaseholders. You will work as part of the stores team, sourcing and providing building materials for our workforce. The role requires someone organised, methodical, and with strong communication skills.

Experience
Significant experience in storekeeping or materials officer roles, with solid expertise in stock control and managing building materials. Experience working in a materials supply and stock control environment is essential.

Good computer skills are required, including the ability to interrogate and effectively operate an IT stock management system.
