About the Role
We are seeking an outstanding, experienced qualified teacher to join Harris Academy Clapham as Subject Leader for Music. Since opening in September 2020, our academy has been a place where ‘everything is possible’. We support every student to fully develop their academic and personal talents and help them achieve their dreams. We work closely with families and the Lambeth community to support all students, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Our staff are supported to become the best they can be, with a focus on career development and ambitions.
The role involves establishing world-class provision within the Music subject area, including enrichment activities. You will lead curriculum planning, sequencing, implementation, and impact, ensuring a clear progression model is in place. You will be accountable for student progress, high-quality work, and vocabulary development, meeting targets agreed with the Principal and Governing Body.
You will ensure high standards of teaching and learning through a relentless focus on pedagogy, relevant research, and keeping staff updated with the latest developments. You will implement academy policies consistently and manage teaching/support staff, financial, and physical resources efficiently in collaboration with senior leadership. Additionally, you will ensure literacy and numeracy support is integrated cohesively within the subject delivery.
Our ethos focuses on developing students’ spiritual, moral, social, and cultural well-being, promoting their role in making the academy and community safer and better places through lessons, after-school activities, visits, and partnerships with external organisations.
