Job overview
The post holder will support the operationalising of the Talent strategy, building and developing relationships with stakeholders from across our professional groups, both clinical and non-clinical, to ensure all staff have equitable access to learning & development and career opportunities that meet both individual, team and organisational requirements & priorities.
The post holder will play an integral part in developing our staff at every level, ensuring that all our programmes are inclusive and that our talent opportunities are available to every staff member within the Trust.
They will apply expert knowledge and understanding of talent management theory in the work practices for the delivery of the talent service, and harness their expertise to ensure that the talent management processes are grounded in theoretical talent methodology to drive a successful service provision.
The successful candidate will have a passion for developing people and will have some experience where this can be demonstrated.
Main duties of the job
Forming part of a wider talent team and working in partnership with their peers, the post holder will play a pivotal role in supporting the operations of our Management Training Scheme (MTS). The scheme offers the chance to develop professional and leadership skills through a combination of practical experience and a postgraduate qualification. OD Department
The OD Department is made up of three services which support the delivery of our Trust’s People Strategy. These services are Learning and Development, Talent and OD Consultancy and Culture, whose combined vision is to enable leaders, teams and staff to flourish and deliver the organisational strategy and vision, aligned to our values and behaviours framework.
The core focus of the Talent service is to support the Trust in establishing inclusive systems that recognises everyone has potential, to grow a diverse leadership pipeline and support a culture where identification and development of potential is continuous.
The core purpose of the Learning and Development service is to build the knowledge, skills and behaviours for now and the future, enabling leaders and all staff to deliver the Trust’s priorities and strategy.
The core focus of the Organisational Development Consultancy and Culture service is to enable the Trust in achieving its strategy by supporting senior leaders and their teams to build high performance cultures where staff are fully engaged to deliver excellent service.
Together as a department we support the Trust’s most strategically important programmes, designing, delivering and evaluating interventions in alignment with our people strategy.

Leading on the operational activity of the Management Training Scheme (MTS), taking direction from MTS Strategy Group and expert support from the Organisational Development (OD) team in best practice in talent and diversity to ensure continuous improvement.
Lead for talent development programmes to ensure evidence-based provision, content and delivery. Including monitoring and maintaining standards of programme and course delivery, quality assessing regularly.
Mentor learners on the various programmes to support them in their learning and encourage them to own their careers and take up all opportunities for development and growth.
Ensure that all talent programmes are adequately publicised and promoted to targeted audiences; advertise through appropriate media and forums brining in creative approaches to marketing, including blogs, social media and developing learning communities.

Essential criteria
Educated to degree level in a relevant field or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
Previous Experience
Essential criteria
Demonstrable experience in managing projects with multiple stakeholders
Experience of working in an autonomous way, working within defined parameters to meet defined objectives
Experience in coordinating staff and or team development days or events
Skills/Knowledge/Ability
Essential criteria
Ability to manage multiple projects / work streams and develop and progress project plans
Ability to have difficult conversations with managers and staff in a tactful manner.
