About the Role
Hackney is one of the most dynamic and progressive local authorities in the UK. We are a resilient, vibrant, and creative borough in the heart of London, with strong, diverse communities and a powerful set of shared values. An exciting opportunity has arisen within Hackney Building Control for a Technical Support Officer to join our dynamic team. This post offers a fantastic chance to gain experience in the building control sector. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Technical Support Officer and the Senior Building Control Levy Monitoring Officer to validate all types of building regulations applications and notices, support Registered Building Inspectors and Surveyors, deliver a high-quality service to clients, and ensure the council’s statutory functions are discharged.
You will collaborate with key stakeholders and local authority teams to ensure successful project delivery. The role offers a supportive environment with opportunities for personal and professional development. Growth, innovation, and ambition are encouraged to help shape this part of London.
As a Council, our most outstanding asset is our staff, who are highly dedicated to serving our residents and committed to our organisational goals. We operate a fair and open anonymous selection process and do not accept supporting statements or CVs. The application process includes competency-based questions to demonstrate your suitability for the role and provide examples of your skills, knowledge, and experience as outlined in the job description.
We value authenticity and encourage candidates to showcase their unique knowledge and skills in their own voice. This application process replaces a supporting statement.
