We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Transport Shift Managers to join our busy 24/7 Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS). NEPTS supports patients who cannot travel to or from our hospitals by other means due to medical or mobility conditions, ensuring safe and timely transport to Guy’s and St Thomas’ sites and discharges to locations across mainland UK.
The role involves supporting the NEPTS Transport Manager to deliver a high-quality transport resource and ensure smooth operational running of the Transport Department. You will be responsible for deploying operational resources effectively, managing teams including Emergency Care Assistants, Ambulance Care Assistants, and Fleet Controllers, and utilising telematics and maintenance systems to ensure ambulance availability and safety.

Experience
- Significant experience in staff supervision and management
- Experience in a transport environment, preferably within the NHS
- Experience as a Patient Transport Field Trainer
- Experience with vehicle maintenance systems
- Experience managing the delivery of an effective service
- Desirable: Experience in a customer-focused healthcare role

Qualifications
- Essential: Educated to HNC level, equivalent diploma, or equivalent experience
- Desirable: Detailed understanding of the NEPTS CLERIC system
- Desirable: Financial management and analysis skills
- Desirable: In-depth knowledge of NEPTS systems as they apply to fleet planning, controlling, and allocation
