About the Role

Our Urban Highways Design team has an immediate requirement for a Design Engineer to assist in delivering Urban Highways and Development Infrastructure projects for clients including Transport for London, Birmingham City Council, Edinburgh City Council, Kent County Council, London boroughs, HS2, and various private developers, architects, and contractors.

Key responsibilities include engineering design and design management as part of project teams, commercial, programme and quality management with opportunities for increased ownership on smaller projects, mentoring graduate engineers, technicians and apprentices, managing work through Global Excellence Centres in India, and contributing to business development through tenders, proposals, and client presentations.
Experience
- Proven experience in urban highway and/or development infrastructure design and design management
- Experience working with local authorities and/or developers, understanding their objectives and key performance indicators
- Ability to contribute to a portfolio of projects at varying stages and with different clients
- CAD and 3D modelling skills in a BIM environment are advantageous
- Evidence of developing commercial awareness to support profitable project delivery

- Progressing towards CEng / IEng status

Qualifications
- Engineering qualifications relevant to the role
- Progression towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status is desirable
