About the Role
Are you passionate about ensuring that people with lived experience genuinely influence the decisions that affect their lives? As a Voice and Influence Officer, you will play a vital role in making sure the voices of children, young people, families, and care-experienced adults in Islington are heard, valued, and acted upon. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of strategic change, supporting inclusive, ethical, and creative approaches to participation that shape services and policies across the borough.

You will design and deliver a wide range of engagement, co-design, and participation activities, working directly with diverse communities. Your role will involve removing barriers to involvement, especially for those whose voices are less often heard, ensuring their lived and living experiences meaningfully inform decision-making.

Working collaboratively with colleagues and partners across the council and beyond, you will plan and facilitate workshops, support individuals and groups to participate, and translate insights into clear, impactful learning that influences change. You will also contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and ethical practice, ensuring all activities are inclusive, safe, and evidence-led.

You will join the Strategic Programmes and Strategy – Quality and Improvement Team within Children and Young People’s Services, reporting to the Strategy and Change Delivery Lead. The role operates in a hybrid working environment combining office-based work at 222 Upper Street, community-based engagement, and remote working where appropriate.

Islington Council is a values-driven organisation committed to equity, inclusion, and empowerment, where lived experience is central to service design and improvement. This role offers the chance to build your skills, influence real decisions, and be part of work that genuinely makes a difference.
