About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, caring and organized administrator to join the ward administration team within the Heart Division, Royal Brompton Hospital. The role will involve interacting with a variety of people within the organization, as you will be providing administrative support to the clinical staff across multiple areas. The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent interpersonal skills, be caring, possess strong communication skills, have excellent attention to detail, and will have experience in a busy office environment working proactively and using your own initiative.
Main Duties of the Job
You will be working with the Matrons, Operational Bleep Holders, Ward managers, Nurses, Doctors, and other administrators on a daily basis to ensure that there is appropriate administration support within the Heart division. This will include admitting and discharging patients on the hospital's patient admission system, booking outpatient appointments, transport, and liaising with other departments in the hospital to ensure that the patient journey is efficient and stress-free. This service is provided 7 days a week, inclusive of Bank holidays and is covered by a pro rata system inclusive of early, late, and long days.
Experience
Previous experience dealing with the public. Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative.
About You
Good level of English language demonstrated through effective written and verbal communication. Friendly and efficient telephone manner. Ability to work unsupervised with a flexible approach to work. Excellent interpersonal skills and a methodical, numerate approach.
Qualifications
Essential: Relevant Computer courses, Relevant NVQ Level 3 education/equivalent. Desirable: Administration courses.
