About the Role
Start your career at the intersection of AI, business transformation and risk with WTW, a global advisory business serving 140 countries. As a Financial Crime Apprentice, you will help shape how emerging technologies are used to manage financial crime risk, improve processes and solve complex business challenges. You will play an active role in Propel, WTW's transformation programme, which leverages AI and automation to redesign workflows. This apprenticeship offers hands-on experience supporting financial crime processes, risk management and AI-driven transformation initiatives within KYC Operations.

Throughout the 15-month Level 3 Compliance & Risk Officer apprenticeship, you will combine practical business experience with a nationally recognised qualification. You will gain exposure to financial crime operations, process optimisation, data analysis, emerging technologies and cross-functional collaboration. Your responsibilities will include supporting financial crime and KYC processes, analysing data and workflows to identify risks and efficiency opportunities, assisting with testing and implementing AI-powered tools, responding to queries, supporting process reviews, and collaborating with stakeholders to support change initiatives.

A typical week involves reviewing management information and case data, testing new technology solutions, participating in team meetings, and working with colleagues across functions to understand business operations. You will receive support from managers and mentors, contribute to ongoing projects, and dedicate time to your apprenticeship studies and professional development.

This role suits someone who enjoys problem-solving, understanding how things work, and using technology to improve outcomes. You will be encouraged to ask questions, challenge existing ways of working, and explore how AI and emerging technologies can help manage risk more effectively. Over the course of the programme, you will develop a blend of analytical, technical and business skills that could lead to future opportunities in Financial Crime, Risk & Compliance, Business Analysis, Project Management, AI & Digital Transformation, Process Improvement, Technology Change & Adoption, or Consulting.

Experience
No prior experience required. This apprenticeship is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in financial crime and risk management.
