About the Role
Ealing Council has an exciting opportunity for two Acquisitions Officers to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. We are passionate about ensuring residents facing homelessness can access safe, suitable, and affordable accommodation. As an Acquisitions Officer, you will be at the forefront of this work, securing quality temporary accommodation, building strong partnerships across the housing sector, and helping the Council respond to increasing housing demand. Your role will involve expanding accommodation supply and achieving value for money, supporting vulnerable households, improving housing outcomes, and delivering services that make a lasting difference to our community.

Your key responsibilities will include procuring a sufficient supply of private sector accommodation to minimise homelessness in Ealing, ensuring accommodation is of a suitable type, size, and location to meet client needs. You will contact, negotiate, and liaise with private sector landlords, agents, Housing Associations, and developers to acquire suitable accommodation on reasonable terms. You will visit properties, undertake inspections, and produce schedules of works to ensure properties meet required standards including gas and electricity safety. Additionally, you will prepare lease and contract documentation, such as property leases and management agreements, complete property inventories, and support end of lease negotiations.

This is an exciting time to join Ealing Council and make a positive difference to our residents and borough. We are committed to equality of opportunity and welcome applications from all residents, particularly those entering the employment market or mid-career professionals underrepresented in our workforce.
