About the Role
Ealing Council has an exciting opportunity for two Harm Reduction Youth Outreach Officers on a full-time, 2-year fixed term basis. The Officers will be part of a Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) funded project working with young people involved in serious youth violence, harmful sexual behaviour, missing episodes, and those on the edge of care. The role involves working face-to-face with individuals and their wider peer networks in schools, community, and youth settings to build significant trusting relationships.

As a Harm Reduction Youth Outreach Officer, you will collaborate with staff across Ealing’s Integrated Youth Service and Social Care to engage, safeguard, and support children and young people experiencing multiple and overlapping harms. This includes repeated missing episodes, exploitation, harmful sexual behaviour, and serious youth violence, using a child-first, trauma-informed, and relational approach.

You will use a variety of youth work methods including one-to-one support, project work, and outreach to encourage and support young people to dissociate from serious youth violence and offending, particularly robbery. Additionally, you will work with families and education providers to secure engagement with the project.

Ealing Council is committed to providing innovative interventions to support vulnerable young people, helping them overcome barriers and thrive in a safer, healthier, and more equitable environment. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive difference in the community.

About you
- Committed to a child-first, trauma-informed, and relational approach.
- Able to build trusting relationships with vulnerable young people and their wider peer networks.

- Motivated to contribute positively to community safety and youth wellbeing.

- The post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and Ealing's enhanced vetting process.
