About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen within the London Borough of Redbridge for an Adults Litigation Lawyer to join the Council and provide a comprehensive and professional legal service. You will report to the Principal Lawyer – Social Care within the Legal Department and work closely with other Council departmental clients and specialist departments. As an in-house social care lawyer, you will manage an interesting workload and advise senior clients.

The role involves the conduct of a full caseload of adults and community care/Care Act 2014 matters including Court of Protection and Mental Health Act cases. You will provide advice on Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS) applications and defend judicial review challenges including adults, age assessment, section 17/20 Children Act challenges, and leaving care matters.

Experience
Extensive knowledge and experience of adult social care legislation and practice. Good knowledge of local government and public sector law affecting social care and health. Experience of working in a busy local authority setting.

Qualifications
Hold a qualification as a Solicitor, Barrister, FILEX, or similar.
