About the Role
Not all Occupational Therapy jobs are in the NHS. Are you looking for a new challenge and a chance to support the development of an innovative paediatric service? Join the Therapies team at the London Borough of Redbridge. We are delighted to offer 2 committed and dynamic experienced Occupational Therapists the opportunity to join our Community Children's Occupational Therapy SEND therapies service.

Redbridge Education, Access and Inclusion Services provide exceptional specialist support to a wide range of schools and education settings. Since September 2021, this central service has expanded to include a dedicated school-focused Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy service.

The service works with children in both mainstream and special schools to provide interventions and support aimed at improving their ability to engage in education and develop skills to support independence and optimal function. You will have the opportunity to work with children who have a wide variety of physical and learning needs including Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and Global Developmental Delay. Responsibilities include assessing functional needs, developing and modelling intervention plans, and evaluating progress.

Our aim is to provide training and advice to schools, equipping teachers and staff with the tools to develop each child as an individual using an inclusive and functional approach to learning. We work closely with colleagues in health, education, and social care to provide a high-quality service.

We are looking for someone highly motivated and enthusiastic to join our team, ideally with previous experience working with children.

We offer excellent CPD opportunities and career progression, a supportive management team, regular team meetings, peer support and supervision, clinical focus groups, and opportunities to attend Regional Networks. In-Service Training is provided, including clinical leadership development, alongside annual appraisals. You will have opportunities to contribute to Local Authority quality improvement work and innovations, and to be actively involved in the design and implementation of the team’s annual planning.

Additional benefits include a competitive salary and pension package, a range of lifestyle, retail and leisure discounts, and a generous annual leave allowance.

All posts are subject to DBS and Right to Work checks, HCPC membership, and relevant Royal College Membership. Successful applicants will be invited to interview on a rolling basis as applications are successful.
