About the Role
Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough committed to transforming its communities and Council through innovative approaches and strong local relationships. As one of the fastest growing and third most diverse London boroughs, Redbridge offers excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open spaces, and rapid transport connections to central London.
We are seeking Neighbourhood Officers to provide an exceptional service to residents by managing a defined mixed-tenure patch and acting as the primary relationship holders with residents. You will provide a regular and visible presence on estates, ensuring homes are safe and well maintained, offering advice and information, and understanding the needs of customers, tenants, and leaseholders at both individual and neighbourhood levels.
As the custodian of the estates and neighbourhoods you manage, you will influence place shaping and foster strong relationships with residents, serving as an important first point of contact for those requiring support. You will also work to improve joint working with partner organisations and other Council departments to enhance the lives of tenants.
Your role will be key to improving resident satisfaction, building trust, and ensuring residents receive a high-quality service. You will drive regulatory compliance and support colleagues in investigating enquiries from customers, councillors, MPs, the Housing Ombudsman, and complaints regarding the service.
The role requires discretion, excellent organisational and communication skills, and the confidence to manage competing demands. You will maintain a calm, solutions-focused approach and demonstrate a commitment to collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement. Flexibility to adapt quickly and support occasional out-of-hours commitments is essential.
To apply, please submit your CV and a covering note no longer than two A4 sides addressing how you meet the criteria outlined in the person specification.
We are committed to diversity and inclusion and welcome applications from qualified candidates regardless of age, disability, gender identity, sex, marriage and civil partnership status, pregnancy and maternity status, colour, race, religion, or belief.
