About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Youth Justice Education Officer within the Youth Justice & Targeted Prevention Service in Redbridge. This role has been re-configured to ensure children in the youth justice cohort can access quality education provision and receive the necessary support to progress in education, training, and employment. Research shows that high aspiration and good education engagement reduce the risk of children entering the youth justice system while supporting desistance.
You will be part of a multi-agency team working closely with education and training providers and Education & Inclusion colleagues to remove barriers and create solutions for children in the youth justice cohort to access and engage in education. This includes collaboration with Connexions, Education Welfare, SEND, Virtual School, Admission, and Behaviour & Inclusion teams.
Your responsibilities will include face-to-face engagement with children and their families, advocating for the needs of the child across various platforms, delivering individual and group teaching including Functional Skills provision, and participating in a wide range of Youth Justice Service activities on both individual and group work basis. You will also contribute to developing and implementing effective solutions to youth crime.
The service supports professional development through regular supervision and training sessions. Redbridge Youth Justice & Targeted Prevention Service fully embraces Trauma Informed Practice in their engagement with children and families.
If you are passionate about making a difference and working with young people in Redbridge, we encourage you to apply.

Experience working with children and young people, preferably within education, youth justice, or related fields. Proven ability to engage and motivate young people to participate in education and training.
About you
