About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Child Missing in Education (CME) team as a CME Officer. You will be responsible for delivering the local authority’s statutory duties relating to children missing education, leading the tracking and locating of children of statutory school age believed to be missing education. The role requires confident communication across all levels of seniority, willingness to travel across the borough, and excellent interpersonal skills. You will conduct background checks, provide reports, and act as a key contact for schools regarding monitoring school starters and leavers.

Experience
Previous experience as a Child Missing in Education Officer or in a related profession is desirable. Knowledge of statutory responsibilities and relevant legislation when working with children, young people, and families within CME and education contexts is required.

Qualifications
There are no specific qualification requirements for this role. However, successful applicants will be required to undergo an Enhanced Criminal Record Check from the Disclosure and Barring Service. The London Borough of Redbridge is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, and the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act relating to non-disclosure of spent convictions do not apply to this post.
