About the Role
The Assistant Manager plays a key role in supporting the Community Manager with the day-to-day management of the property portfolio to achieve budgeted revenue, occupancy, resident retention, and leasing goals. Responsibilities include coordinating leasing and reservations activities, ensuring the property meets company standards, and actively participating in the leasing process from prospect qualification to tenancy documentation and move-in/out procedures. The role requires using property management systems to generate reports, monitor unit availability, log maintenance requests, and maintain accurate records. The Assistant Manager promotes resident satisfaction by responding promptly to enquiries, complaints, and service issues, and works closely with the maintenance team to uphold the community’s physical standards. Additional duties include overseeing advertising and promotional activities, monitoring lease expirations and rent arrears, conducting apartment inspections, and supporting team development and training. The Assistant Manager also acts as the Community Manager’s deputy when required, participates in an on-call emergency roster, and ensures compliance with company policies, tenancy legislation, and health and safety regulations. This position demands a proactive approach to improving service delivery, maximizing revenue streams, and maintaining investor satisfaction through timely reporting and responsiveness.
Experience
- Proven success in driving leasing and sales performance with operational management experience including P&L responsibility and budget monitoring within the property sector or a similar environment.
- Detailed knowledge of Landlord/Tenant legislation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and property operations software (training provided).

Qualifications
- Good level of general education.
- Training will be provided for property operations software and relevant statutory requirements.
- Understanding of UK tenancy legislation, Health and Safety compliance, and company policies is essential.
