We are seeking an experienced and professional Assistant Manager - Retail Catering to lead a dynamic retail operation, driving sales performance while maintaining exceptional customer service standards. You will manage day-to-day retail activities, oversee the team, and ensure smooth operation of all retail areas. This role requires strong leadership, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to motivate and develop your team to achieve organisational objectives. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily retail operations, managing inventory and stock control, driving sales through merchandising and promotions, maintaining high customer service standards, monitoring sales data, ensuring compliance with health and safety and food hygiene standards, conducting staff inductions and training, managing budgets and costs, liaising with head office, and resolving customer complaints professionally.

Experience
Proven experience in retail or hospitality management within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Experience in contract catering or food retail environments is desirable. Experience managing budgets, controlling operational costs, staff scheduling, and workforce planning is advantageous.

Qualifications
Solid understanding of retail operations including purchasing, stock control, ordering accuracy, merchandising standards, product rotation, and sales forecasting. Proficiency with POS systems, digital menus, and retail management platforms. Knowledge of health & safety, food safety, and due diligence procedures. Ability to work with financial targets, analyse sales data, monitor KPIs, and support budget management.
